Press Release: May 13, 2019

ClampArt will host a book signing and Artist Talk on May 29 (6-8PM) at the gallery located at 247 West 29th Street, Ground Floor, New York, NY 10001 for Oliver Klink award-winning book – Cultures in Transition: Spirit Heart Soul. Cultures In Transition was selected as best photography book by the Independent Publisher (2019 IPPY GOLD AWARD)

Cultures in Transition explores the changes that people go through, the subtleties that make their life evolve, their spiritual guiding light. Over 15 years, in five Asian countries (Bhutan, China, India, Mongolia, Myanmar), Oliver Klink photographed environmental portraits of the continuity between family, work, and spirituality. There was no separation, but peoples’ concerns about how ‘progress’ can create disconnection and alienation between themselves and their communities became more evident. This fluidity of life is at the core of Cultures in Transition.

The book was printed at Longo Press in Italy as 7 color offset and bound in Milan at Legatoria. True North Editions, 2018. In Engish. 168 pp., black-and-white illustrations, 13½ × 12″.
